Accessibility and Gap.com

I was reading an A List Apart article that referenced the Gap.com site redesign. When I went to the site to check it out, I was greeted with this message:

We’re sorry, but we do not support the version of the browser you are using.
Our site works best with the following browsers:
PC users
Internet Explorer 5.5 and above
Netscape 7 and above
Mozilla (including Firefox) 1.0 and above
Mac users
Netscape 7 and above
Mozilla (including Firefox) 1.0 and above

OK, I’m on Linux using Firefox 1.5 so I can’t use your site… at all? Worse yet, it does not work in Safari, the default web browser for Mac OSX.

A prime example of eschewing accesibility and standards for new flashy technology. What good is a pretty website if it isn’t accessible to your visitors? At the very least ...
